This course begins with an introduction then proceeds to "travel" around the world. As an introduction, students will explore the five themes of geography and global interdependence. This is followed by the study of geography, early history, heritage, transitional periods, and current events in the following regions: Africa, South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh), Southeast Asia, Australia, Oceania, East Asia (China, Korea, Japan), Latin America, Canada, the Middle East, Europe, and the former Soviet Union. The exploration will include (but not be limited to) current events, culture, language, and foods. A culminating project is required at the end of each region. This project will be researched during class time and will be presented to the rest of the class.
